On 27 November 2019, Ambassador Sun Gongyi paid a courtesy call on Hon. Mrs Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, Vice-Prime Minister, Minister of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology of Mauritius. The two sides exchanged views on cooperation in the field of education between China and Mauritius. Mr. Song Yanqun, Cultural Counsellor, accompanied the meeting.

Mrs Dookun-Luchoomun presented her gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for its long-term support to the Ministry and looked forward to further cooperation between the two sides in the area of special education and Chinese-teaching in primary and secondary schools of Mauritius.

Ambassador Sun noted that China and Mauritania maintained close cooperation in the field of education. The Chinese side is looking forward to working together with the Mauritian side to continuing to broaden the channels of cooperation in this field thus enhancing our bilateral relations.
