Congratulating Mr. Padayachy on his new appointment, Ambassador Sun noted that China-Mauritius pragmatic cooperation has yielded fruitful results over the years. The China-Mauritius Free Trade Agreement signed this year is China's first free trade agreement with African countries. China is committed to continue supporting the economic and social development of Mauritius, and maintain communication with the Mauritian side on specific projects. Look forward to further deepening bilateral cooperation within the framework of China-Africa Cooperation Forum and the Belt and Road initiative.

Mr. Padayachy said that the bilateral cooperation in the economic and trade field is satisfactory and Mauritian government is deeply grateful for China's important contribution to the economic and social development of Mauritius. The China-Mauritius Free Trade Agreement will definitely help lift the bilateral economic and trade relations to a new height. Mauritius is willing to work with China to continuously expand bilateral economic and trade cooperation thus enhance the overall bilateral relations.
