On 22 November 2019, Ambassador Sun Gongyi paid a courtesy call on Hon. Nandcoomar Bodha, the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade of Mauritius, the two sides exchanged views on deepening the friendly cooperative relations between China and Mauritius.

Ambassador Sun congratulated Mr. Boda on his appointment as Foreign Minister and thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mauritius for its contribution over the years to promoting the development of China-Mauritius relations. We look forward to the two sides working closely to promote continuous development of the bilateral friendship.

Mr. Bodha said he was grateful for the congratulatory message from Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi once took office. Mauritius has benefited greatly from China's successful Africa policy. Mauritius values its friendship with China and is willing to work with the Chinese side to inject more impetus into our bilateral cooperation.
