United as One to Fight COVID-19

On 18 March, China and African countries had an expert videoconference on the prevention and control of COVID-19 which experts from the Ministry of Health and Wellness of Mauritius and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade of Mauritius attended in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade of Mauritius. This is another important measure for China to uphold the concept of a community of shared future for mankind which contributes to the cause of global public health and safety.

Experts from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Peking University First Hospital and China Customs introduced the development trend and characteristics of the epidemic, and China's experience and practices in epidemic prevention and control, clinical treatment, customs border inspection, etc. , answering about 50 various problems raised by African countries. China pointed out that China and Africa are good friends, good partners and good brothers. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in China, African countries and regional organizations have provided China with substantial support and valuable assistance in different ways, which fully reflects the brotherhood between China and Africa in distress and has become a true picture of a closer community of destiny for China and Africa. At present, confirmed cases have occurred in many countries in Africa, and the situation is deteriorating. While strengthening its own epidemic prevention, China is willing to share its experience in fighting the epidemic with the African side without reservation and actively provide support and assistance within its capacity.

As a small developing island country, it is imperative to strengthen the capacity building of its own health system.
