On June 25, 2020, Chinese Ambassador Sun Gongyi paid an official call on Mauritian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade Bodha. The two sides exchanged views on further promoting the development of bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation in regional and international affairs.

Ambassador Sun Gongyi expressed gratitude for the facilities provided by Mauritius as to the extension of visas for the Chinese personnel in Mauritius. China has overcome difficulties to provide the Mauritian government and people with the assistance within its ability to fight Covid-19. Materials aided by China will soon arrive in Mauritius, which reflects the friendship between the Chinese people and the Mauritian people. At present, both China and Mauritius have put the virus under control, and it is believed that the human race will eventually tide over the crisis.

Minister Bodha expressed gratitude to China for providing valuable support to Mauritius in its fight against Covid-19 during the most difficult time. China not only provided material supplies, but also organized video conference for guidance, which has played an important role in effectively controlling the epidemic in Mauritius. The prospects of the cooperation between Mauritius and China will certainly be broader in the future.
