Since the outbreak of Novel Coronovirus Pneumonia (NCP) in China, the overseas Chinese in Mauritius have expressed sympathy and support for China's efforts in countering the epidemic, firmly believing in China's capability to defeat the virus.

Mr. Sit Kwee LEUNG YIN KO, chairman of Leung Mutual Society, said he has been keeping a close eye on the outbreak though China is far from Mauritius, expressing his deepest condolences to those families who suffered from misfortunes, and believing that the Chinese government will overcome the difficulty as it defeated SARS.

Mr. Charles Ng Tai Mui also expressed his sympathy to the Chinese compatriots, believing that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, the Chinese people will surely win the battle. He is ready to do his utmost for this fight against the epidemic.

According to an article published on "Hua Sheng Bao" newspaper, Mauritian Chinese's hearts are with their compatriots in China. Chinese medical teams from across the country rushed to the epicenter in Wuhan, and a batch of medical supply and donations arrived in Wuhan from all directions, supporting the front line of epidemic control, which has demonstrated the virtue of the traditional Chinese culture. Hua Sheng Bao is sure that China will win this battle.

The Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Mauritius encouraged Wuhan and China by making a video, singing that "We share weal and woe, pursue the same dream and cherish the same love. We sincerely wish you happiness and health." The simple song sings out their care and blessings for the Chinese compatriots. Although Mauritius is thousands of miles away from China, their hearts are with China, hoping that the epidemic will end soon and wishing all fellow countrymen safe and healthy.
