On June 11, Ambassador Dr. Huang Shifang held a press reception for representatives from more than ten Mauritian media, including the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation, Le Defi, Le Mauricien, and others. 

Ambassador Huang briefed the media on China’s diplomacy, the achievements and opportunities brought by Chinese modernization, and the outcomes of China-Africa practical cooperation. She noted that China recently received a succession of high-level visits. China’s diplomacy continues to bring stability and certainty to a changing world. 2026 marks the first year of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development. China remains committed to pursuing high-quality development and advancing high-level opening-up. China’s zero-tariff policy will bring new opportunities to African countries, including Mauritius. China is ready to work with the Mauritian side to take the bilateral strategic partnership to a new level. Ambassador Huang also elaborated on the one-China principle.

During the Q&A session, Ambassador Huang took questions on practical cooperation between China and Mauritius, and other related topics. The reception shared the guests with a video address delivered by H.E. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee And Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China at the 2026 Event to Celebrate The International Day for Dialogue Among Civilizations.
