On January 30, 2026, the Mauritian government and major Chinese Communities jointly held the 2026 Chinese Spring Festival National Banquet. Mauritian Deputy Prime Minister Paul Raymond Bérenger, Ministers, Ambassador Huang Shifang, presidents of Chinese associations and nearly a thousand representatives of Chinese Communities attended the event.

In her speech, Ambassador Huang extended New Year greetings to the Chinese Communities, expressed gratitude to the Mauritian government for the long term commitment to promoting friendly relations between the two countries, and called on Chinese Communities’ further contribution to the friendly cooperation between the two countries.
