On April 27, 2022, Ambassador Zhu Liying met Mr. Jagutpal, Minister of Health and Wellness of Mauritius. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in the medical and health field between the two countries.

Ambassador Zhu appreciated the close cooperation between China and Mauritius in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic and said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mauritius, the Chinese Government would like to take this opportunity to promote the deepening and practical cooperation in the medical and health fields between the two countries and jointly build a China-Africa community of health for all.

Mr. Jagutpal said that China has provided Mauritius with great help in fighting the epidemic, for which Mauritius is deeply grateful. The traditional friendship between the two countries is profound, and cooperation in the field of medical and health care has yielded fruitful results. The Mauritian government is willing to work with China to further intensify exchanges in the field of medical care and bring more benefits to the two peoples.
