On August 10, 2021, Ambassador Zhu Liying paid a courtesy call on the Hon Mr. Alan Ganoo, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade of Mauritius. The two sides exchanged views on topic about the development of Sino-Mauritius relations.

Ambassador Zhu conveyed the cordial greetings from State Councilor and Foreign Minister Mr. Wang Yi to Mr. Ganoo, and said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mauritius, bilateral relations have been developing steadily, mutual trust has been deepening, practical cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results, and cultural exchanges have become increasingly close. Ambassador Zhu expressed his willing to further strengthen communication and cooperation with the Foreign Minister Mr. Ganoo and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mauritius to promote the deepening and solidification of the friendly and cooperative relations between China and Mauritius, and bring more benefits to the two peoples.

Mr. Ganoo congratulated Ambassador Zhu on his appointment and presented his credentials, and asked Ambassador Zhu to convey his best wishes to State Councilor and Foreign Minister Mr. Wang Yi. Mr. Ganoo said that the friendship between Mauritius and China has a long history and thanked China for its long-term valuable support for Mauritius’s economic and social development. The Mauritian Government has always attached importance to the development of Mauritius-China relations and is looking forward to working hand in hand with China to continuously deepen the pragmatic cooperation between the two sides in various fields.
