Ambassador ZHU Liying presents his credentials to President of the Republic of Mauritius

On July 21, 2021, H.E. Mr. ZHU Liying, the new Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Mauritius, presented his credentials to H.E. Mr. Prithvirajsing ROOPUN G.O.S.K, President of the Republic of Mauritius. Ambassador ZHU's spouse Mrs. YING Qunhua accompanied.

Ambassador ZHU conveyed the cordial greetings from the Chinese President Mr. XI Jinping to the President of the Republic of Mauritius and the good wishes of the Chinese Government and its people to the Government and people of Mauritius. Ambassador ZHU expressed his grateful to the Mauritian government for its thoughtful arrangements for him to assume his new post during the epidemic. Next year will remark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mauritius, Ambassador ZHU expressed his great pleasure to serve as Ambassador on this occasion, he is willing to work with the Mauritian government to continue to deepen the traditional China-Mauritius friendship and promote the continuous and in-depth development of bilateral relations.

President ROOPUN asked Ambassador Mr. ZHU to convey his sincere gratitude and cordial greetings to President XI Jinping, congratulations and welcome Mr. ZHU to assume his new post. President ROOPUN said that the Mauritius-China friendship has a long history and the two countries have achieved fruitful results in practical cooperation in various fields. For a long time, especially since the outbreak of the COVID-19 , China has provided a lot of support and assistance to Mauritius, and the Mauritian Government is deeply grateful to that. Ambassador ZHU has rich diplomatic experience, especially his in-depth knowledge of Africa, it's believed that with the joint efforts of both sides, bilateral relations between two countries will reach a new level.

After the presentation of his credentials, Ambassador ZHU accepted interviews with the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation and other media.

Ambassador ZHU Liying arrived in Mauritius on July 4, and accepted self-isolation for two weeks in accordance with Mauritian regulations. Before presenting his credentials, Ambassador ZHU presented a copy of his credentials to Ambassador Mr. Haymandoyal DILLUM, the Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Mauritius.
