The second batch of Chinese vaccines arrived in Mauritius

In the evening of May 20, 2021, the second batch of China's Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine arrived in Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam international airport of Mauritius.

Mauritian Prime Minister Mr. Pravind Jugnauth, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Alan Ganoo, Minister of Health and Wellness Mr. Kailesh Jagutpal and Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy Mr. Gong Yufeng greeted at the airport.

 

Afterwards, Mr. Pravind Jugnauth and Mr. Gong Yufeng met with journalist.

Mr. Jugnauth said that China has provided emergency vaccine support to Mauritius not long ago, and is currently delivering the second batch of vaccines to Mauritius as quickly as possible. Sincerely appreciate it that the Chinese government attaches great importance to bilateral relations and provides valuable vaccines support to Mauritius, which reflects the profound friendship between Mauritius and China. The arrival of the vaccines is important to Mauritius's fighting against the epidemic. It will speed up the progress of national vaccination campaign and help Mauritius achieve herd immunity as soon as possible.

Mr. Gong Yufeng said that China has provided vaccine support to Mauritius twice in a short period of time, which is a testimony and embodiment of the friendship between China and Mauritius. Facing with the epidemic, China and Mauritius have overcome the difficulties together, clarifying the concept of building a China-Africa health community.
