On 17 June, Ambassador Huang Shifang met with the Dr. Anne-Marie Ancia, representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Mauritius. 

Ambassador Huang introduced advancements in China-Mauritius medical and healthcare cooperation. She stated that the Chinese side attaches great importance to assisting Mauritius in strengthening capacity-building in the healthcare sector and to continuously improving its medical and health standards for the benefits of the Mauritian people.

Dr. Anne-Marie Ancia said that China was among the first countries to provide COVID-19 testing kits and vaccines to African countries, delivering crucial support in their fight against major health challenges. The WHO Representative Office in Mauritius is willing to work with China to further strengthen communication and cooperation in the field of health care in Mauritius.
